Clifton Mustang Band Alumni Association

Welcome to the official site of the Clifton Mustang Marching Band Alumni Association! The association's purpose is to reconnect all alumni and provide opportunities for both social and civic activities. We also believe we share an obligation to our current Mustang Band and future alumni. The association will support them through scholarships, needed equipment/instrument purchases and other support activities to insure that the tradition of excellence and advantage of the Mustang Band experience can be as meaningful to their future as it has been to ours.

If you would like to become a member, please fill out a membership form online and mail it in. Membership is good for one year only so please continue to support the CMBAA by becoming a member every year.

If you would like to fill out an alumni profile sheet online, click here and mail it in.

The Clifton Mustang Band Alumni Association awards three scholarships annually at the Annual Awards Dinner to senior band members who will be attending college, using dues and fundraising money. Two scholarships honor former band director Robert D. Morgan, and our first drum majorette, Marie Vullo-Giunta. In addition, a scholarship honoring former band director Stanley Opalach is awarded to a Clifton Community Band member. A fourth scholarship, The John and Margaret Donkersloot Scholarship, is funded annually by their children, all band alumni. The annual $3000 scholarship will be given by their children, John Donkersloot, Diane Drake, Janice Ice and Barbara Skelly, all Mustang Band alumni, to honor their parents for their support in all their children's activities throughout their school years. The scholarship will be awarded based on the recipient's demonstration of motivation, commitment, teamwork and leadership during their time in the band. According to the siblings, their parents encouraged them to participate and supported them with their time and energy. The scholarship honors their memory and the important role the band and their parents played in their lives.

Since there are so many more deserving seniors, we encourage all alumni to consider funding a scholarship, either by yourself, or with fellow alumni or family members. Who you would like to honor would be your choice. If interested, please contact Michelle Collins or Gabe Pinto at

Hello all,

We wanted to take this time to keep you all apprised of a few things coming up. First and foremost, we will not be holding a meeting for the month of December, so keep your eyes open for updates on any fundraisers that may be coming up in the next few weeks.

We also wanted to let you all know that the Alumni Association was approached just after Thanksgiving by the Band Parents Association and, in keeping true to our mission statement, we will be making a donation of $1,200 to help defray the overall costs of the Mustang Band's upcoming trip to Quebec. We all remember how important these band trips were when we were in the uniform, and we were happy to help the Mustang Band make this trip happen in any way we could. Any comments are welcome before Dec. 9, 2017, as the funds will need to be forwarded to the Band Parent's Association expeditiously.

Thanks again for a wonderful showing at the Thanksgiving game this year, it was truly a wonderful day for all of us. We wish you all a very Happy Holiday Season!

Kind Regards,
Sage Walsh
President, CMBAA
